Living in a world of $200 oil
Financial Times - For rich countries, the $125 oil price will be a noticeable drag on economic growth; for poor countries, when combined with higher food prices, it will mean more poverty. Oil supply should grow in response but if it does not, $200 oil is just about conceivable. It would cause serious economic disruption, international tensions and currency crises for some poor nations.

The River of Death
Independent - For the people living alongside the Payapon river – a branch of the mighty Irrawaddy – the slow-moving waters have always been a sustainer of life. The river has provided irrigation for their crops, as well as clean, sweet water for washing and bathing, and the fish from which so many of them make their livelihoods. Now the same river is delivering the dead. The corpses of hundreds of people swept away and killed by the surging tidal wave of Cyclone Nargis are now being washed back.

Skrivalice u zelenom aprilu
Republika - Po zelenoj Srbiji idu vesele družine lidera i članova političkih partija u potrazi za glasovima. Put im je relaksiran, bezbrižan i poznat. Svi su se oprobali na ovakvim poslovima i svi su zadovoljni pripremljenim pričama. Oslobođeni pritiska savesti, sa jasnom svešću o sopstvenim ulogama koje bi trebalo da zadrže, uživaju u konstruisanim predizbornim programima i nesankcionisano obećavaju ono što bi mentalno izmoreni građani želeli da čuju. Fino vreme za političku elitu. Ne preduzimaju nikakve ozbiljne poslove, ne brinu kakve zakone treba da donesu, nisu u dilemi kakve razgovore treba da vode sa predstavnicima međunarodne zajednice. Sve im je dobro i sve im je potaman. Većina ne strepi ni od izbornih rezultata. Nekako se sve smirilo i izbistrilo, pa izgleda sigurno kao kad se gleda kroz bistru vodu. Takvo stanje omogućava učesnicima veselog karavana koji kruži Srbijom osećanje da će i posle ovih izbora biti na dobitku.
