Italija: samoubistvo levice

Republika -  Najveći doprinos neoliberalističkoj tezi da posle pada Berlinskog zida levica više ne postoji i da je kapitalizam, kakav oni propovedaju, ostao bez alternative, dali su izbori održani u Italiji 13. i 14. aprila, na kojima je italijanska levica u parlamentarnom smislu prestala da postoji. Italija je danas jedina zemlja u Evropskoj uniji u čijem parlamentu ne postoji nijedan poslanik deklarisane levice. Predistorija seže pre pada Berlinskog zida, a tragedija je toliko duboka da čak i neke desne partije smatraju da je štetno za demokratiju ako levica, makar i ultra, nema mogućnosti da se iskaže na mestu predviđenom za sučeljavanje različitih političkih stanovišta. Italijansku levicu nije eliminisala desnica, već se desilo ono što piše na jednom krajputašu u Srbiji: »Sam sebe ubi iz zasede«.
