Večernje novosti - NARODNA banka Srbije u četvrtak je intervenisala, prodajući devize na deviznom tržištu, pokušavajući da ublaži pad dinara. Intervencija nije bila velika u obimu, svega četiri miliona evra. To je, poredeći sa sličnom situacijom u maju (politička neizvesnost, pad berze, rast evra) kada je NBS dva dana intervenisala prvo prodajući 37 miliona evra, pa 38,4 miliona, zaista skromna intervencija.

Damned duopoly
Economist - RWE and E.ON, the other German power giant, are treading on eggshells these days. Their duopoly over electricity generation and distribution in Germany is under attack from almost every quarter: the European Commission, the Federal Cartel Office, the Federal Network Agency and, of course, consumers. People are livid that the two giants recently announced price rises of 7-10% for next year, despite record profits in the first three quarters and windfall gains from CO2 emission certificates that they were given free.

The panic about the dollar
Economist - A full-blown dollar crisis on top of a credit crunch and a weakening economy would be frightening. It would send financial markets reeling and tie the hands of the Fed, perhaps forcing it to raise interest rates even as recession looms. The sky-high euro would soar further, choking off Europe’s growth. Political tensions would also rise. Already Airbus has called the dollar’s decline “life-threatening” and France’s president, Nicolas Sarkozy, has given warning of “economic war”.

Hrvatska tehnička vlada usvojila tri strateška dokumenta
Jutarnji list - Članovi Vlade izglasali su, među ostalim, Pretpristupni ekonomski program (PEP) za razdoblje od 2008. do 2010., Strategiju zaštite od nasilja u obitelji za iduće dvogodišnje razdoblje te Nacionalnu strategiju i program korištenja ukapljenog naftnog plina (UNP) na otocima (2008- 2012). Ovo je nedemokratsko ponašanje, poručili su iz SDP-a, HNS-a i HSS-a.
