New government, old presssure for Serbia

With political and economic pressure on the rise, the three parties launched hurried negotiations to form the new government. A compromise was also reached in the security service control area with Tadic’s Democratic Party winning the post of defense minister and control of the military intelligence and Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia taking the interior ministry. The three sides agreed to appoint a non-party member, who has yet to be selected, as head of the secret police.
