Erjavec zagrozil s prekinitvijo pogodbe, Janša o General Dynamics
vojko, torek, 9. september 2008Zahtevam jasen odgovor na vprašanje, zakaj so bili uslužbenci podjetja /Patria/ priprti. Če pojasnila ne bom dobil, bom suspendiral pogodbo, današnja angleška spletna izdaja finskega dnevnika Helsingin Sanomat navaja izjavo slovenskega obrambnega ministra Karla Erjavca.
Slovenia has threatened to suspend its planned purchase of armoured vehicles from the Finnish defence manufacturer Patria if the company does not provide a clarification of suspected bribery linked with the deal. A call for an explanation was made by Slovenia’s Minister of Defence Karl Erjavec in a television interview. “I demand a clear answer to why employees of the company have been imprisoned. If no explanation is forthcoming, I will suspend the deal”, Erjavec said.
In predsednik uprave Patrie Heikki Allonen na to.
Patria CEO Heikki Allonen says that it is difficult for the company to take a stand on information that is in the hands of the police. He also said that he does not understand what the suspension of the deal actually means.
“If it means a delay, the action would be a breach of contract”, Allonen says.
A to še ni vse. Helsingin Sanomat objavlja oziroma povezam tudi pogovor s predsednikom vlade Janezom Janšo, ki zanika očitke o korupciji na svoj račun, hkrati pa v zgodbo ‘potegne’ tudi General Dynamics.
“Neither me nor my government has taken bribes, and there were also no attempts to bribe us”, Janša said on Monday in an interview with Helsingin Sanomat in the capital Ljubljana.
The Prime Minister said that Patria won because its offer was 20 per cent cheaper than the bid made by its competitor, and because the proportion of Slovenian production was greater in Patria’s offer.
He added that he himself was never contacted by Patria and that no Finns had tried to influence him.
“The Americans, on the other hand, tried a few times to get me to come to meetings and discussions. I refused, saying that the decision is in the hands of the Ministry of Defence.”
“The former US envoy here was also a representative of General Dynamics”, Janša adds.
The US armaments industry giant General Dynamics owns the Slovenian Sistemska tehnika , under whose nose Patria grabbed the contract for the supply of 135 armoured vehicles.
Janša says that the process leading to the deal was initiated already during the previous government, and has been a topic of heated debate inside Slovenia.
“Although Sistemska Tehnika is currently an American company, our Defence Minister was accused of going against the national interest when Patria was chosen.”
